I went to see the boys late this morning. They're both still critical but stable. They still hadn't gotten their scans but expect them sometime before lunchtime. They're both getting brain and renal scans, nothing else. One of the nurses this morning told me they were getting more but it turns out, they're not.
Addison has a heart murmur and they hear a very slight murmur on Riley. It's nothing that they feel is critical right now. They're waiting until they boys kidneys are working better before starting the medication for the murmurs. I guess the medication for the murmur can interfere with the kidney function. They're expecting to start the meds sometime next week. They have 2 different meds to try before they talk about surgery.
Addison seems to be holding his own on the cpap but the doctor did tell us that there's a 50/50 chance of him needing to go back onto the ventilator. He's currently getting 30 assisted breaths per minute on the cpap but he's taking at least twice that on his own.
Riley may have his arterial line pulled today. When they do his ultrasound today, they're going to check the flow of his liver and kidneys and see if the arterial line is putting too much pressure on him.
Ian is down there with my mom right now and we're getting ready to head out of the hospital. Skylar is here keeping me company and he's been promised $30 worth of DS games as a thank you gift for being so well behaved and such a helper while all of this is going on.
I'll update later tonight after we get the scan results back.
